August 2023

Issue four

On behalf of RBKC, FM Conway and Cadogan, we hope you have all had a good summer, despite the inclement weather.

Works are continuing at a good pace and we are still on track for completion at the end of 2024.

To accommodate the utilities diversions at the bottom of Sloane Street, a chicane is now in place at Sloane Terrace to switch southbound vehicular traffic from the eastern side of the road to the west. The chicane will move up Sloane Street as works progress, (see below).

In addition, public realm works are well underway at the junction with Pont Street to install the granite tables across the carriageways, as well as completing the York stone paving.

You will have noticed that the first of the new trees have now been planted in two of the new granite planters outside Cartier and the new Azzurra restaurant on Sloane Street. The remaining flora will be added during planting season at the end of September.

FM Conway have also commenced installing the stunning Arts and Crafts inspired lighting columns, which will light both the carriageway and the pavement.

If you have any questions, please contact Sloane.Street@fmconway.co.uk

Public realm works

We would also like to flag that there is scheduled to be a closure of Sloane Street between Pont Street and Knightsbridge during the weekend of 2/3 September. This is not part of the public realm works and will be managed by the contractor working on the redevelopment of 51/52 Sloane Street.

Please note that dates may change due to operational reasons, such as hold-ups in weather-dependent processes. However, should there be a need to postpone any scheduled works, we will provide updates at the earliest possible opportunity.

Chelsea Manor Street

Cadogan is seeking the views from local residents on the future of Chelsea Manor Street. Following the creation of Pavilion Road in response to community feedback, there is an opportunity here to create a cluster of uses that encourages Chelsea’s independent, creative spirit for the benefit and enjoyment of the whole community. We’d love to hear your thoughts, so please fill in our short survey which will remain open until Friday 15th September.
