September 2023

On behalf of RBKC, FM Conway and Cadogan, we hope you have all had a good few weeks, despite the inclement weather.

Please do email or call me on mark.poole@cadogan.co.uk / 020 7730 4567 with any Sloane Street related enquiries.

Sloane Street Transformation

Traffic management

Works are continuing at a good pace and we are still on track for completion at the end of 2024. To accommodate the utilities diversions at the bottom of Sloane Street, a chicane is now in place at Sloane Terrace to switch southbound vehicular traffic from the eastern side of the road to the west. The chicane will move up Sloane Street as works progress, (see below).

Work 2023 Programme

In addition, public realm works are well under way at the junction with Pont Street to install the granite tables across the carriageways, as well as completing the York stone paving.

The temporary traffic lights associated with these works have now been removed which should assist with traffic flows.

Street furniture and planters

You will have noticed that the first of the new trees have now been planted in two of the new granite planters outside Cartier and the new Azzurra restaurant on Sloane Street.

The remaining flora will be added during planting season at the end of September.

FM Conway have also commenced installing the stunning Arts and Crafts inspired lighting columns, which will light both the carriageway and the pavement.

STREET FURNITURE AND PLANTERS

Christmas schedule of works

You will be pleased to hear that we have been advised by FM Conway that all pavement works in the north and south retail areas of Sloane Street will be suspended from Saturday 18th November, the day of the Christmas Lights switch-on, until after the festive season is finished.

As always, we are aware of the impact of the ongoing Sloane Street works and would urge you to contact Helen McConnell or Cate Green, the Public Liaison Team at FM Conway with any queries. They can be reached on sloane.street@fmconway.co.uk or alternatively, updates will be posted on www.sloanestreetfuture.co.uk

Retailer Events

If you plan to hold an in-store event on Sloane Street, please can you notify mark.poole@cadogan.co.uk. We can then do our best to work with FM Conway to remove barriers and ensure your boutique frontage is looking as smart as possible.

Retailer Rubbish

We have received several reports of rubbish sacks being thrown over the barriers, into work sites on Sloane Street. These have been returned to the boutiques responsible and we would request that this does not happen again. If you have any issues regarding rubbish collection locations, please speak to sloane.street@fmconway.co.uk

Alternatively, if you would like to utilise the First Mile Eco-Bike rubbish collection service, please contact Grace Hamer at sustainability@cadogan.co.uk

Safety & Security

Additional Security Services For Sloane Street

Working closely with the Knightsbridge and Kings Road BIDs, Cadogan have funded additional security services for Sloane Street. The most visible of these are the red uniformed My Local Bobby security team. Please make a note of their phone numbers as they can assist with live incidents:

North Sloane Street – Oumar and Bilal – 07496 222860

South Sloane Street – Hicham, Alex and Hassan – 07903 829304

Sentry SIS

We have rolled out SentrySIS, the crime intelligence sharing platform, alongside the BIDs on the King’s Road and Knightsbridge. This is a GDPR-compliant system to share crime intelligence that we hope will replace the discussion of security on the current WhatsApp group. If you currently do not have access to SentrySIS, please contact Kar at kar-hin.li@thewelcomepeople.com for more information.

Safer West Central – Business Resilience Forum

The next Safer West Central – Business Resilience Forum is on Monday 2nd October at the new time of 3.00 to 4.00pm; you can sign up here. This is held online over Microsoft Teams which can be accessed via desktop, browser and smartphone app. The invite link for the meeting will be emailed to you on the day. This will connect store managers and security managers with the Metropolitan Police neighbourhood teams and representatives from RBKC and Westminster councils to look at crime trends in the area, intelligence about prolific offenders and key operational updates that impact the area.

If you are concerned about crime on Sloane Street, it is imperative that you join!
