April 2024

Welcome to the April edition of our retailers’ newsletter, providing an update on the various work streams taking place as paving and public realm works progress along the east side of Sloane Street. This update focuses on recent and current works by our contractors, which we hope serves as a valuable update.

Sloane Street Transformation

Work progresses along the eastern side of Sloane Street, with paving being laid and planters installed as part of the public realm improvements. RBKC and contractor FM Conway currently have five active worksites on Sloane Street:

  • Outside Louis Vuitton to outside Ermanno Scervino

  • Outside Valentino to outside The Gloucester Pub

  • Outside Cadogan Place Gardens

  • Cadogan Place to Ellis Street

  • Outside Holy Trinity Church

Meanwhile, Reach Active and Thames Water are undertaking work in three areas:

  • Thames Water is currently on-site commissioning the water main.

  • Reach Active works are being completed and backfilled outside Hermes.

  • Reach Active is waiting for works to be completed by UKPN outside Chanel.

North Sloane Street

RBKC works are ongoing outside Louis Vuitton and Ermanno Scervino to install the public realm scheme. In addition, Reach Active has completed and backfilled the works outside Hermès, in preparation for FMC to take over and commence their installation.

Cadogan Place Gardens

RBKC works are ongoing outside Cadogan Place Gardens to install the planters and wider paving.

South Sloane Street

RBKC works are ongoing between Cadogan Place and Ellis Street and the final slabs are being laid to the north end of this worksite. RBKC works are temporarily on hold outside Holy Trinity Church until the Thames Water team has finished their commissioning works, which are due to be completed in May. The site will then be handed back to complete the public realm.

Sustainability

Join Cadogan, RBKC and Morley College in creating a specialised, six-month luxury retail course (running January to July 2025) for our future retail stars. This programme will equip local students who have long-term interest and ambition in the luxury retail industry with a thorough understanding of retail management, customer behaviour, luxury brands, and the particular issues that the luxury retail industry faces.

Following previous retailer consultations, key course components have already been approved—such as staff and customer behaviour, sales strategies and brand management (more course details can be found here).

Could you offer an informal talk followed by a Q&A session? If so, or if you would like to learn more, please contact sustainability@cadogan.co.uk or paras.shah@rbkc.gov.uk by 31st May.
