Welcome to our latest update on works taking place along Sloane Street. We hope that retailers find these updates a valuable source of information as works progress along the east side of the street. This update will focus on works that have recently been completed, and those that are soon to come.
FM Conway 2024 Timetable
The timetable for the public realm works on the east side of Sloane Street has now been published at sloanestreetfuture.co.uk/programme
Sloane Street Lane Closures
It has been confirmed that southbound traffic will be able to continue using Sloane Street throughout the duration of the works. The chicane will remain in place, but move up and down the street, as required.
Sloane Street Transformation
North Sloane Street
New granite kerbstones and Yorkstone pavers have been laid outside Harvey Nichols, whilst at Arije, the footpath has been excavated and the kerbstones are being laid.
Reach Active trial holes have also been excavated to inspect for unknown below-ground obstructions.
Works have now started on Basil Street, which is part of The Knightsbridge Estate and managed by Schroders.
Pedestrian crossing between 50 Sloane Street and Hermés
We have been advised that there has been a delay with the delivery of the Belisha beacons, and the crossing will remain closed. An alternative temporary crossing is located close by.
Cadogan Place Gardens
The footpath has been excavated and kerbstones are being laid on this soon-to-be widened stretch of Sloane Street, (full plans of the completed scheme can be found at www.sloanestreetfuture.co.uk/our-vision).
South Sloane Street
Thames Water commissioning works are ongoing at the Ellis Street junction and other side streets, to connect them to the new mains water pipe which has just been installed along the length of Sloane Street.
Trees
All the new Lime trees have now been planted along the western side of Sloane Street, (Burberry down to Tiffany). The new tree grilles are now due to be installed.
Sloane Square
The Cadent Gas mains replacement works in Sloane Square, (unconnected to the Sloane Street Transformation works), are due to be completed by 10/02/2024.
Safety & Security
Please join the Safer West Central – Business Resilience Forum on Wednesday January 17th between 3pm-4pm. If you see someone sleeping rough, or begging in RBKC, please call the Street Population Outreach Team on 020 7341 5210 or 020 7361 3008, 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday or via email streetoutreach@rbkc.gov.uk.
You can also report rough sleeping, (but not begging), both within RBKC and nationally, via Streetlink or by calling 0300 500 0914. Streetlink will give the details you provide to the local authority or outreach service for the area in which you have seen the person. The aim is to help the local authority find the individual and connect them to support. If you are concerned about a person under 18, please inform the police.
Sustainability
Energy data collection through central industry settlement databases, using Perse is well underway. The immediate benefit of this approach is that data collection is automated, and no manual input is needed from your teams, such as sharing utility invoices. While fundamental, access to data to support transparent reporting of our collective carbon emissions, is only the first step on this journey to improve our carbon performance. Harnessing this data can reveal energy & carbon insights that improve the financial & environmental impact of assets, which is ultimately the position we aspire to be in. This can be facilitated by data analytics and tailored recommendations to pinpoint and address inefficient use of energy and wastage and reduce your utility bills.
