June 2023

We hope this finds you all well.

Firstly, a huge thank-you to those who took part in Chelsea in Bloom 2023. It was the busiest week ever recorded on the Estate, with the total number of visitors exceeding the previous week by almost half a million! It also saw far more social reach and international media coverage – we look forward to updating you on this further at our next breakfast on 20 July.

Please do email or call me on mark.poole@cadogan.co.uk / 020 7730 4567 with any Sloane Street related enquiries.

Sloane Street Transformation

The public realm upgrade works are on schedule, with the west side of the street showing rapid progress. The south-west stretch is ready for the first integrated pavement planters to be installed shortly, outside our new restaurant at 127-128 Sloane Street and in addition, the new round plant pots have just arrived. Do keep your eyes peeled for the stunning, Andy Sturgeon-designed planting scheme.

An update on the works programme can be seen below. Please note that dates may change due to operational reasons, such as hold-ups in weather-dependent processes. However, should there be a need to postpone any scheduled works, we will provide updates at the earliest possible opportunity.

We would also like to flag that there is scheduled to be a closure of Sloane Street on the weekend of 19 / 20 August, with a back-up date of 26 / 27 August, between Pont Street and Knightsbridge for a crane operation. This is not part of the public realm works and will be managed by the contractor working on the redevelopment of 50/51 Sloane Street.

As always, we are aware of the impact of the ongoing Sloane Street works and would urge you to contact Helen McConnell or Cate Green, the Public Liaison Team at FM Conway with any queries. They can be reached on sloane.street@fmconway.co.uk or alternatively, updates will be posted on www.sloanestreetfuture.co.uk.

Sustainability

Cadogan is working in partnership with Verco to set up utilities data sharing, as required under our green lease terms. This is to better understand our joint impact and ultimately help you to reduce your energy and water consumption, in line with our Chelsea 2030 vision and net zero carbon target.

Once set up, we will provide you with your personalised energy and water dashboard to enable you to monitor and compare monthly and yearly consumption. If you have not already, please get in touch with sustainability@cadogan.co.uk and we will arrange this for you.

Many thanks to those of you who have led the way in doing this – we look forward to collaborating with all of you and sharing accompanying insights.

‘Luxury Retail’ – new college course

Kensington and Chelsea Council, Cadogan and Morley College have partnered up to create a new college course in luxury retail. Working to support the needs of local businesses and residents, they are currently looking for high-end retailers to help co-design the new course over the next 2 months.

“This course aims to develop students’ skills in providing high-end retail customer services and standards and will equip a new cohort of local residents with the tailored knowledge to work in the industry”.

If you work in high-end retail, please consider sharing your experience and knowledge and contact Paras Shah, RBKC Employment Opportunities Officer on paras.shah@rbkc.gov.uk.

Safety & Security

We are working alongside the King’s Road Partnership and Knightsbridge Partnership to roll out SentrySIS, a free GDPR-compliant crime intelligence sharing platform. We currently have 23 retailers across Sloane Street and the adjoining streets who have joined the system. If you would like further information about SentrySIS, please contact Kar – kar-hin.li@thewelcomepeople.com – who can arrange a store visit to demonstrate SentrySIS to you and your staff.
The next Safer West Central – Business Resilience Forum is on Wednesday 12th July at 9am; you can sign up here. This will connect store managers and security managers with the Metropolitan Police neighbourhood teams and representatives from RBKC and Westminster councils to look at crime trends in the area, intelligence about prolific offenders and key operational updates that impact the area.
