May 2023
It has been a remarkable past few weeks. Despite the challenging weather over the Coronation weekend, footfall across the Cadogan Estate increased by 7.7% year on year for retail week 18, with year to date footfall on Sloane Street North running at +15.6% and on Sloane Street South +11.3%. Summer in Sloane Square – with its pop-up al fresco dining offer, has been busy since it opened a fortnight ago, and, in other news, I’ve taken over from Giles Semper to deliver your monthly Sloane Street updates.
Please do email or call me on mark.poole@cadogan.co.uk / 020 7730 4567 with any Sloane Street-related enquiries.
Campaign to bring back Tax-Free Shopping
Along with our friends at the Association of International Retail (AIR) and the Knightsbridge and King’s Road Partnerships, Cadogan are continuing to push for the reinstatement of Tax-Free Shopping. We would be grateful if you could join us along with a panel of expert speakers for an update on the ongoing campaign, Thursday 18 May, 8.30-9.30am. You can register here
Sloane Street Transformation
The public realm upgrade works are progressing well, and the programme is on track. Large stretches of the west-side pavements have now been repaved in smart, new, York stone with granite kerbing. At the Sloane Square end, works are due to be completed by w/c 15 May. The new, granite planters have now arrived and will be installed just after Chelsea in Bloom (from 30 May).
As always, we are aware of the impact of the ongoing Sloane Street works and would urge you to contact Helen McConnell or Cate Green, the Public Liaison Team at FM Conway, (the principal contractor) with any issues. They can be reached on sloane.street@fmconway.co.uk or alternatively, please keep an eye on www.sloanestreetfuture.co.uk
An added Buzz on the street
In partnership with Dior, we are delighted to welcome our newest residents to Cadogan Place Garden, North on Sloane Street. Already active and buzzing around, our two hives of bees are flourishing and add to the colonies already in residence in Cadogan Place South Gardens.
In addition to supporting local biodiversity and pollinators, our hives offer an incredible educational insight into the lives of bees.

Safety & Security
Working with the King’s Road and Knightsbridge Partnerships, we are rolling out SentrySIS, a crime intelligence sharing platform, across Sloane Street, King’s Road, and Knightsbridge. This complimentary, GDPR-compliant service will provide a more effective way for retailers across the area to share information about criminal activity and provide a step up from the current WhatsApp groups. 19 retailers along Sloane Street are already on the system, but we need more! If you would like further information about SentrySIS, please contact kar-hin.li@thewelcomepeople.com
The Partnerships have also organised a monthly virtual Business Resilience Forum that will bring together store managers & security officers across the area, alongside the Metropolitan Police neighbourhood teams and Westminster and RBKC council teams, to look at recent crime trends, intelligence around prolific offenders and key operational updates that impact the area. The next forum is on Wednesday 14 June at 9am. Please sign up here
