October 2023

We hope this finds you well and we look forward to seeing many of you at the Sloane Street Retailer Breakfast on 02/11/23. In the meantime, please find below the latest update which will focus on works that have been completed, and those that are soon to come.

As previously mentioned, we have been advised by FM Conway that all pavement works will cease in the north (Knightsbridge) and south (Sloane Square) retail areas mid-November, ready for the Christmas Lights Switch-On, 18/11/23.

Works will then be focussed on the central, residential area, until 22/12/23, when all pavement work on the western side should be finished.

We have been notified that the eastern pavement works (Harvey Nichols side) will recommence in early January and should be completed by the end of 2024, when Sloane Street will have a new road surface, laid overnight.

Sloane Street Transformation

To accommodate the utilities diversions at the bottom of Sloane Street, a chicane is in place to switch southbound vehicular traffic from the eastern side of the road to the west.

The chicane is moving up Sloane Street as works progress (see below)

  • A parking bay is being completed to the South of Knightsbridge Court.
  • A new paving and loading bay are being installed along this section of footway.

The Reach Active team are working closely with their project partners Thames Water and Openreach to establish a timeframe for reconnections to take place. Once these have been completed, the road surface can be restored. We will be able to provide more information in the next programme update.

Sloane Street Junction with Pont Street

  • Work continues on the raised table across Sloane Street towards the gardens, with an estimated completion of four weeks.
  • Cappagh (Blue Barriers) will shortly be completing their works until they return to site in the spring of 2024.
Safety & Security

We have launched SentrySIS, the crime intelligence sharing platform, alongside the BIDs on the King’s Road and Knightsbridge. This is a GDPR-compliant system to share crime intelligence that we hope will replace the discussion of security on the current WhatsApp group. To date, £51,492 worth of stock has been recovered by our My Local Bobby street security team and three Community Protection Orders have been issued by the police to repeat offenders. If you currently do not have access to SentrySIS, please contact kar-hin.li@thewelcomepeople.com for more information.

The next Safer West Central – Business Resilience Forum is on 08/11/23 at 3pm; you can sign up here. The forum connects store and security managers with the Metropolitan Police neighbourhood teams and representatives from RBKC and Westminster councils to look at crime trends in the area, intelligence about prolific offenders and key operational updates that impact the area. The forum is held online over Microsoft Teams which can be accessed via desktop app, browser and smartphone app. The invite link for the meeting will be emailed to you on the day.

Also, please make a note of the My Local Bobby security team’s mobile numbers:

North Sloane Street – Oumar and Bilal – 07496 222860

South Sloane Street – Hicham, Alex and Hassan – 07903 829304

Sustainability

Zero carbon waste collection – Many of you will have seen the Cadogan/ First Mile e-cargo bike, collecting waste from Cadogan occupiers on Sloane Street and the surrounding area. We have been receiving lots of positive feedback on this service, which is ensuring that First Mile waste bags are collected in a timely manner, whilst also removing large and unsightly waste collection trucks from our already congested streets, thereby reducing carbon emissions, and improving air quality – and ultimately leading to a cleaner, healthier and happier Chelsea, in line with Cadogan’s Chelsea 2030 vision. If you are one of the few not already using this service and would like to benefit from preferential rates for Cadogan tenants, please contact sustainability@cadogan.co.uk.

Utilities data update We are trialling a new third-party service to obtain the electricity and gas consumption data for Cadogan tenanted assets covered by our green lease clauses without the need for any active input from your side, such as forwarding invoices. This method will use central industry settlement databases and will extract only datapoints needed for carbon reporting, whilst protecting any confidential information. Monthly consumption and carbon emissions figures will be collected for the last 12 months for aggregated inclusion in Cadogan’s annual portfolio-level carbon footprint. We will be working with Perse Technology Ltd for this data collection, please see their privacy policy here.
