November 2022
On January 8th 2023 the northbound lane of Sloane Street (the left-hand side, as you look north from Sloane Square) will close to traffic. Two major diversions will be put in place. They can be viewed here.
- Eastbound traffic through Sloane Square will no longer be able to turn left into Sloane Street. Instead it will be diverted via Eaton Square, Hobart Place and Grosvenor Place, joining Knightsbridge at Hyde Park Corner.
- Traffic on Pont Street will no longer be able to turn left (if heading west) and right (if heading east) towards Knightsbridge. Instead it will be diverted via Belgrave Square and Upper Belgrave Street to the above diversion route via Eaton Square, Hobart Place and Grosvenor Place.
- Southbound traffic on Sloane Street will not be affected.
The closure of the northbound lane is to allow FM Conway to begin laying the final public realm scheme on Sloane Street. During this period pedestrian traffic on the west side of the street will be diverted to the outside of the work compounds as shown here. Access to the front of commercial and residential properties will be maintained, but with defined access points as illustrated here.
A diagram showing an overview of the works can be seen here.
In August 2023 work will move to the east side of the street and the southbound lane of Sloane Street will close to traffic. This website will be updated in 2023 to show the impact.
Please note that all plans may be subject to revision.
For enquiries regarding the works, please contact FM Conway’s Public Liaison Officers Helen McConnell and Cate Green at sloane.street@fmconway.co.uk or on 07917 518 529 and 07443 077 444.

A new presentation can be found here. This information was accurate as of 12th October and will be updated again should the schedule change significantly.
Works in phases 1, 3 & 4 are scheduled to stop by 11 November to allow Christmas trading. Phase 2 works (outside residential properties) will continue until 16 December. All works will then resume after Christmas.
Squarepoint is also present on the street, filling cellars with concrete where necessary to support the weight of the public realm scheme. Retailers are being contacted by Cadogan as and when this work takes place outside their premises.
August 2022
On 1st September, Reach Active will begin excavating trenches along the kerb line in various locations on the west/northbound side of the street (Cadogan Hotel side). These will allow utility providers (such as BT, Thames Water, Cadent Gas etc) to divert their cabling/piping away from the locations of the new planters.

More information on Reach Active’s approach can be found in a brief presentation here. This information was accurate as of 24th August and will be updated should the schedule change significantly.
Some important points to note are as follows:
- There will be work sites at various locations on the west side of Sloane Street. These locations will move in coming months, as shown in the presentation.
- The work sites will require traffic management comprising of a lane closure and footway narrowing. Temporary traffic signals will be used for works around the Pont Street junction.
- The footway width will be a minimum of 1.5m.
There will be no worksites outside retail premises between 14th November 2022 and 2nd January 2023 to allow Christmas trading.
